Ingredients

  • 1 box (15.25 oz) strawberry cake mix
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 3 large eggs
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine cake mix, melted butter, water, and eggs. Stir until smooth.
  3. Pour batter into prepared dish.
  4. In another bowl, beat cream cheese and softened butter until fluffy.
  5. Gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla; beat until thick.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of cream cheese mixture over batter. Swirl with a knife.
  7. Bake for 35-40 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cool completely, then top with fresh strawberries.

Notes

For best results, use room-temperature cream cheese. Store leftovers in the fridge.
